It was earlier reported that an Egyptian man hijacked an EgyptAir flight over his estranged ex-wife, who is residing in Cyprus.

Twitter immediately reacted with a flurry of posts and poems, falling in love with the romantic motive behind the events.
Some however wanted to take a closer look at the heroine behind the story who apparently inspired the hijacking.

The plane subsequently landed in Cyprus' Larnaca airport where the hijacker, a single male thought to be strapped with explosives, later released all the passengers.
The hijacker then surrendered and was immediately arrested.

EgyptAir has also now officially declared the hijacking to be over.
The reasons for the highjacking remain unclear.
