Earlier in the day, the EgyptAir passenger flight MS181 was hijacked by a single male suicide bomber with between 58 and 82 people on board, according to various reports.
"As I can see from my schedule, our flights are on check-in and we are working normally, and on boarding also," the office said.
The report of the hijacked passenger jet traveling from Egypt’s Alexandria to Cairo was received by police at 8:30 a.m. local time (6:30 GMT).
