MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia’s Eastern Military District artillerymen carried out live firing drills from Uragan multiple rocket launchers in the Zabaikalsky Territory, the district’s spokesman said Tuesday.
"The artillerymen performed tasks of engaging different types of surface targets in complex terrain at distances up to 30 kilometers [18.6 miles]," Col. Alexander Gordeev told reporters.
The troops practiced hitting a simulated enemy’s fortified concrete structures, command posts, communication centers and armored vehicles.
Over 20 salvos were fired as part of the military training that wrapped up with large-scale tactical exercises using various types of artillery.
