Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier will meet in Moscow soon.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier will discuss the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine and the Syria peace process during their upcoming meeting in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday.

"During the talks, the two countries' foreign ministers will assess topical aspects of Russian-German cooperation on politics, trade, economy, culture, and within the humanitarian sphere. Lavrov and Steinmeier will continue the exchange of views on key international issues, including the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukrainian crisis settlement and the promotion of the Syrian peace process," the ministry said in a statement.

The politicians will also discuss European security issues, the fight against international terrorism and matters related to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which Germany will chair throughout 2016.

Steinmeier is set to visit Russia on March 23.
