The Latvian National Armed Forces (NBC) said Sunday that two Russian military ships had been allegedly detected near a republic's border.

RIGA (Sputnik) — No comments have been received by RIA Novosti from the Russian Defense Ministry regarding that issue.

"Two Russian Navy warships, [a corvette] Steregushchy and a Krivak-class frigate, have been identified in the Latvian exclusive economic zone at the distance of 8.5 nautical miles from the NBC territorial waters," the NBC said on twitter.
