A FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 plane coming from Dubai crashed at about 03:50 Moscow time (00:50 GMT) on Saturday while attempting to land amid poor weather conditions at the Rostov-on-Don Airport (ROV).

FlyDubai confirmed that 55 passenger, including 33 women, 18 men and 4 children, were on board the Boeing 737-800. "The nationalities of the deceased passengers include 44 Russians, 8 Ukrainians, 2 Indians and 1 Uzbek," the company said in a statement.

People took to social media to express their condolences and shock following the tragic catastrophe.

Daria Koposova was only 20 years old. Her last few posts on Instagram showed her vacationing in Dubai just a few days ago. Her fellow university students have written comments next to her photos.

“My dear, rest in peace, I will always love you.”

In the crash, according to the published list, Dasha’s parents and her younger sister, nine-year-old Nastya, were also killed.

'Expressing my deepest condolences to relatives and close people of victims of the Boeing catastrophe in Rostov-on-Don.'

Mayachenkova Olga, was another young woman, a nurse, who met her end in the tragedy. Her friend Irina Avdeeva posted a photo of a melting candle in the darkness as a tribute to her memory. “I knew her as a good person.”

“Dear, kind and sympathetic she worked in our village as a nurse on an ambulance. She was always smiling,” Svetlana Berg said.

'Aeroplanes should land.'

The main theme of most of the social networks in Russia today was the discussion of the crash. “What's it like to fall for 10 minutes and know that you will die? That it will be all over with just one blow? Right before you there is your family, husband, children, a child crying of fear and these 10 minutes is all you have to say goodbye, to say the most important words. One must say even when there are no words to say, when there are tears and it’s hard to say. Some were flying without family and could not even turn on the phone to say goodbye,” wrote the community manager of the site, ‘Zabor Rostov-on-Don’.

'Enjoy life, till you can.'

“You think that this is not your tragedy, not your family, but in the first place these are human beings. Walk up to the nearest person, look him in the eye and imagine that he or she will not be next to you… Take care of your loved ones,” the author urged.
