MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 plane coming from Dubai crashed while attempting landing amid poor weather conditions at the Rostov-on-Don Airport (ROV), leaving no survivors from those 62 people aboard.
"Honorary Consul [Victor Ventimilla Alonso] is currently at the scene," Antonio Casado, the diplomat on duty at the ministry, said.
According to the Russian emergencies ministry, six out of seven crew members were foreigners, including a Cypriot commander.
Earlier in the day, the Spanish Foreign Ministry confirmed to Sputnik that two Spanish citizens were among the crew members of the crashed FlyDubai Boeing in Russia. He added that the relatives of one of the dead were informed, while the ministry could not establish contact with the relatives of the other.
