DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — Last month, Russia and the United States brokered a truce between the Syrian government and key opposition forces in Syria.
The ceasefire took effect on February 27 and has largely held so far, despite sporadic violations. It does not apply to terrorist groups operating in the country, mainly Daesh and al-Nusra Front.
"I call on everyone, who has taken up arms to join ceasefire… The crisis is coming to an end and I call on everyone, who can and wants, to fight Daesh together with our armed forces," Muallem told reporters.
