This spring, the Sputnik news agency and radio network ramps up in Asian and European regions through a cooperation agreement with Yonhap, South Korea’s largest news agency, and its partnership with the Athens News Agency-Macedonian Press Agency (ANA-MPA), which has led to the launch of a one-hour program in Greek on Praktoreio FM.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – In addition, Sputnik has just finished construction work on its new Asian editorial office in Beijing (China) and is set to open a cutting-edge multimedia press center in Minsk (Belarus).

"Multimedia capabilities and data transmission speed play a key role in the work of any modern media outlet. This allows Sputnik to be a major media outlet and tell the untold in a format that is comprehensible to young audiences," Sputnik’s foreign broadcasting service chief, Anton Anisimov, said.

Sputnik’s cooperation agreement with Yonhap marks a new stage in the development of its partnership with South Korea’s leading media outlet. The agreement provides for the development of professional collaboration, joint projects and information exchanges on a broad range of issues.

The focus will be on information exchanges on Russian-South Korean ties, travel, cultural, economic and business issues. In addition, the parties have agreed to provide all necessary assistance to Sputnik and Yonhap reporters based in their respective countries.

Under its partnership with the Athens News Agency-Macedonian Press Agency (ANA-MPA), Sputnik has launched a one-hour program in Greek on Radio Praktoreio 104.9 FM in Thessaloniki, which will be aired four times a week. The show’s host is Dimitris Liatsos, a well-known Greek journalist. The show addresses political, economic and social issues.

Sputnik has recently completed the construction of an international multimedia press center in Beijing (China). The new press center is equipped with modern technology that enables video conferences to be organized with interviewees located in any corner of the world. In late March, another press center is due to open in Minsk (Belarus).
