US-Trained Solders From Jordan Provide Boost in War Against Daesh - Biden
17:19 GMT 10.03.2016 (Updated: 10:48 GMT 06.08.2022) Soldiers trained by the US military at a base in Jordan will bring advanced military tactics to the battle against Daesh, according to a pool report from Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to the desert kingdom on Thursday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Biden toured the base with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, where US troops have been training Jordanian soldiers for several years.
"We are going to defeat ISIL [Daesh]," Biden told US military instructors at a base near the Jordanian city of Zarqa. "We’ve got you and the people you are training, the finest military tactics in the world."

In a visit punctuated with flyovers by two F-16 jet fighters and eight combat helicopters, Biden also cautioned that the war against the Islamic State, also known as Daesh, will take a "long time."
"They are already on their heels," Biden said with regard to Daesh. "They are no existential threat to the United States."
Before traveling to Jordan, Biden visited Israel, where he met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
