Russia will replace all Su-24 bombers on the Crimean Peninsula with the Su-30SM multirole fighters which can strike targets on the surface and in the air.

SEVASTOPOL (Sputnik) – Russia will replace all of its Su-24 Fencer bomber jets operating in the Black Sea Fleet on the Crimean Peninsula with Su-30SM Flanker multirole fighters by 2020, the head of the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Naval Aviation said Thursday.

“The complete replacement of the Su-24 attack fighters with Su-30SMs capable of hitting both ground and marine targets will take place,” Col. Gennady Zagonov told RIA Novosti.
