Superbloom: Death Valley Bursts Into Amazing Blossom

What do we know about Death Valley? There are North America’s lowest elevation, mysterious sailing stones, the scorching sun and the highest air temperature ever measured – 134 °F (56.7 °C) as of July 10, 1913. But the desert, surrounded by mountains, is not always dead. It exhibits an extraordinary biodiversity.

The “superbloom,” as people call it, is a rare event. It was caused by massive amounts of water which had drained into the valley. Just look at the beauty of wildflowers carpeting the deadly desert.
