Reports emerged earlier in the day that at least one civilian was killed in a sniper attack at the Sheikh Maqsoud district in the Kurdish-dominated northern city of Aleppo.
"In all our statements, we clearly voiced our position and declared that we support a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis, but the question is whether the groups operating under the FSA aegis are ready for a truce," Rodi Osman said.
"All these groups pose as the Free Syrian Army and they have not ceased hostilities yet. That’s why the countries that propose a ceasefire must think this over and take corresponding measures," he added.
"Since we always stand against violence and abuse, we have a positive view on the proposal for a ceasefire and endorse [it]. We protect ourselves from terrorism and from assaults on our rights in the Western [Syrian] Kurdistan and all over Syria, and we are ready to contribute to the final solution of the Syrian crisis," Osman said.
