Afghan armed forces liberated 35 people captured by the Taliban insurgents in the southern Helmand province, Afghan media reported Saturday, citing its Ministry of Defense.

Pakistan Urges Taliban to Attend Peace Talks With Afghanistan – Reports
MOSCOW (Sputnik) The pre-dawn raid carried out by the Afghan National Army’s Special Operations Forces in Nad Ali district led to the release of five women, five men and 25 children, the Khaama Press service cited the ministry’s statement.

Seven Taliban militants were arrested in the raid, it added.

The Afghan army retreated from three of its bases in Helmand last week, with defense officials citing the need to consolidate resources and improve security in other parts of the restive province.
