The award, weighing a total of 3.2 kilograms and made of silver, is sculpted in almost the exact shape of an Academy Award statuette. But instead of a sword, the figure holds a traditional Yakut ‘choron’ goblet (made of gold), set on a plinth made of brass.
The statuette was made by the Kierge jewelry company free of charge.
In 2014, the State Chamber Theater of the Russian city of Chelyabinsk also sent DiCaprio a replica of the Academy Award statuette, albeit made of cast iron.
