MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The upcoming Turkey-EU Summit will present a new opportunity to assess the progress that has been made in relation to the EU-Turkey action plan on reducing migrant flows, European Commission spokeswoman Mina Andreeva told Sputnik Wednesday.

"The summit will certainly be another opportunity to take stock of any additional progress made," Andreeva said.

The next EU-Turkey summit on efforts to combat the migrant crisis will be held on March 7.

In November, an EU-Turkey action plan was drafted by Brussels and Ankara to counter the influx of migrants into the bloc, under which EU member states will give some 3 billion euros (around $3.3 billion) to Ankara in 2016-2017 and fast track talks for its accession to the bloc.
