BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed Wednesday that he plans to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the Munich security conference.
"I am planning a meeting with Minister Lavrov in Munich. We have met several times before," Stoltenberg told reporters.
"This is part of a regular dialogue. NATO has never suspended the political dialogue with Russia and, of course, meetings with Minister Lavrov are part of this dialogue," he added, noting the importance of keeping channels of political communication open.
