Russian Troops Test Newest Ratnik Combat Gear During Drills

Russian paratroopers took part in drills in Pskov, using some of the latest equipment, machines and weapons in the Russian Armed Forces. Servicemen tested the advanced Ratnik infantry combat gear as well as the new automated Andromeda-D communication system.

Soldiers equipped with Ratnik gear performed a quick march, overcoming obstacles while using machine guns and smoke grenades.

The Ratnik gear comprises more than 40 components, including firearms, body armor, and optical, communication and navigation devices, as well as life support and power supply systems.

It helps a soldier maintain stable radio contact with all its other elements and receive continuously updated reconnaissance data about enemy positions and the overall situation in the combat zone, something that makes the wearer an intellectual fighting machine.
