Israel Bans Non-Residents Entry to Ramallah After Police Shooting
15:39 GMT 01.02.2016 (Updated: 15:43 GMT 01.02.2016) Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) restricted access to the Palestinian city of Ramallah for non-residents after a shooting allegedly involving a Palestinian policeman, an IDF spokeswoman said Monday.
TEL AVIV (Sputnik) – She added that exceptions would be made in cases of "extreme humanitarian need" and by prior agreement with the Israeli army.
"Based on the evaluations conducted after yesterday's armed attack, additional security measures were introduced in the area and only residents are allowed to enter Ramallah," the spokeswoman told RIA Novosti.

Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian police officer, who shot and wounded three Israeli soldiers at a West Bank checkpoint on Sunday. Amjad Sukari, or Amjad Abu Amar, 34, was reportedly the Palestinian attorney general's driver and body guard.
The killed assailant reportedly posted a message on Facebook decrying the near-daily deaths in the renewed Israeli-Palestinian violence, adding that "I may be the next."
The Beit El checkpoint where the shooting took place is commonly used by diplomats, aid workers, journalists and high-ranking Palestinian officials.
