MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Thursday, media reports suggested that Russian security services together with Egyptian colleagues had identified an Egyptian airport employee as a perpetrator of the A321 explosion over the Sinai Peninsula.
"Regarding yesterday's media information on A321 — it is not confirmed by the Russian agencies that are investigating the terrorist attack… [It] is not confirmed by the FSB [the Federal Security Service]," Andrei Przhezdomsky told reporters.
On October 31, 2015, the Russia-operated Airbus A321 crashed en route from the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg as a result of an explosion on board. All 224 people on board the plane were killed. The crash has become the largest civil aviation disaster in Russian history.
