CHISINAU (Sputnik) – Supporters of center-right and left-wing parties took to the streets to voice opposition to the appointment of a new prime minister and to call for snap elections.
"We are the People," "Early Elections," and "We are the Power," were the slogans shouted by Dignity and Truth (DA) civil platform, Our Party and Socialist party activists.
People continue to arrive in Chisinau carrying white chrysanthemums to signify the peaceful nature of the protest.

"The fact that we have united means we can win and dismiss the current government," Socialist leader Igor Dodon said, calling for early parliamentary elections and a nationwide referendum for a "strong president."
Clashes erupted shortly after Democratic Party candidate Pavel Filip was appointed prime minister on Wednesday and a new government was approved.
Protesters stormed the parliament building and at least 31 people, 27 of them police officers, were injured.
