Second convoy of humanitarian aid trucks has left Damascus for Syria’s besieged town of Madaya, media reports suggested Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Prior to the convoy, whose movement was reported by the BBC, a UN convoy delivered humanitarian aid products to the residents of Madaya on Tuesday. The humanitarian convoy delivered food, detergents, medicine and plastic sheets to cover broken windows from shelling, among other necessary aid for civilians, according to the United Nations.

According to the UN data, people have been dying of starvation in Madaya, where about 40,000 people are trapped.
