CENTCOM: US-Led Coalition Launches 24 Anti-Daesh Airstrikes in Syria, Iraq

According to the US Central Command, the coalition carried out 24 airstrikes against Daesh in Syria and Iraq.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition launched 24 airstrikes in Iraq and Syria against the Daesh (the Islamic State, ISIL) terrorist organization targeting the insurgents’ fighting positions weaponry, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a statement on Wednesday.

"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted eight strikes using attack, bomber, fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft," CENTCOM said. "Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 16 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using attack, fighter, bomber, and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL targets."

US-Led Coalition Airstrike Hits Daesh Currency Stock in Iraq
US-led coalition forces launched eight strikes on Tuesday destroying Daesh tactical units, buildings, an oil booster pump generator and vehicles in five Syrian cities, according to the release.

Meanwhile in Iraq, coalition force launched 16 airstrikes on Tuesday in and around four Iraqi cities including Ramadi and Mosul targeting Daesh bunkers, assembly areas, heavy machine guns.

The US-led coalition of some 60 nations has been carrying out airstrikes against Daesh in Iraq since August 2014 and in Syria since September 2014, however, without the approval of the Syrian government or the UN Security Council.
