MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, a blast reportedly killed 10 and injured 15 people in Istanbul. Media reports claimed that Norwegian nationals were among those injured in the incident, but the country’s consulate in Istanbul said it was not aware of that.
"We have got information that there is one Norwegian who is slightly injured and he is treated at a hospital in Istanbul.. That’s all we have by now," a ministerial spokesperson said.
The UK Embassy also told Sputnik that it was not aware of any British nationals being among the victims of the blast. The Russian Consulate General in Turkey is seeking to clarify whether any Russian citizens were injured in the explosion.
According to media reports, an explosive device may have been detonated by a suicide bomber.
