BISHKEK (Sputnik) — Kyrgyzstan and China are discussing three bilateral projects, including Kyrgyzstan offering land to China to relocate excess industrial production capacity, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev said Tuesday.
Sariev noted that among the projects he had discussed during his visit to China in December was the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan railway links.
"The second area is the participation of the Chinese capital in the construction of a ring road around Issyk-Kul lake and the third is the transfer of surplus production capacity from China to Kyrgyzstan," Sariev said at a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Qi Dayu.
Qi, in his turn, said that the Chinese side would make all the necessary efforts to assist the implementation of the plans.
China and Kyrgyzstan are both members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a Eurasian political, economic and military alliance that was founded in 2001 in Shanghai.
The SCO was founded by the leaders of China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Mongolia, Iran, Afghanistan, India and Pakistan hold observer status in the organization.
