In October 2015, Chinese leader Xi Jinping paid a historic visit to the United Kingdom.

The two sides signed a number of bilateral deals and enjoyed both formal and informal communication.

During the visit, the Chinese leader said he was "deeply impressed" with China-UK relations, pointing out that the two countries have "shared interests."

Xi Jinping's October visit was the first high-level state visit by a Chinese leader to the United Kingdom in a decade.
