States that fully embraced the law’s coverage expansion are experiencing a significant drop in the share of their residents who remain uninsured, according to an extensive new poll released Tuesday. States whose leaders still object to “Obamacare” are seeing much less change.

The US House of Representatives passed a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, and defund the women’s healthcare provider Planned Parenthood in a Wednesday vote.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The measure to repeal President Barack Obama’s healthcare legislation passed the US Senate in December 2015. The bill is now scheduled to go to the White House, where President Obama has vowed to veto it.

"This is the first time in five years we will finally put a bill on his desk that defunds Obamacare," House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a press conference before the Wednesday vote.

House Republicans have called more than 60 votes to repeal Obamacare since it passed in 2010, but the effort was previously blocked by the Senate.
