MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A woman and 11 children were rescued on Tuesday by a US rapid reaction unit in Atlanta, Georgia, after they were taken hostage by a man who eventually stabbed himself, a local television channel reported.
None of the children, the youngest of whom was only three months old, were injured in the hostage crisis in a motel in DeKalb County.

Police cordoned off the area as they engaged in hostage negotiations with the man, Atlanta Channel 2 said. They were called to the motel after reports of a domestic dispute.
The man was armed with a knife and was reportedly not cooperating, prompting the SWAT team to storm the building.
