Kazakhstan and the United States are expected to discuss in early 2016 the implementation of agreements reached during the November visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry to Astana, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry's press service said on Friday.

ASTANA (Sputnik) — On October 28-November 3, Kerry held his first Central Asia tour, visiting Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. Earlier this week, US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central Asia Daniel Rosenblum said that Washington planned to continue dialogue with five Central Asian countries next year.

"As part of the development of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States, the discussion is ongoing on a spectrum of the bilateral cooperation issues, including the implementation of the agreements reached by the parties during the visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry to Astana this year," the press service told RIA Novosti.

According to the ministry, "a wide range of officials from both countries" will be engaged in the Kazakh-US dialogue.

On November 2, the US top diplomat conducted bilateral discussions with the Kazakh leadership. During the meeting, Kerry and his Kazakh counterpart Erlan Idrissov exchanged views on cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism, regional integration in Central Asia, the situation in Afghanistan, among other issues.
