MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Tuesday, Lidington held a meeting with Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov in Moscow.

"Deputy Foreign Minister Titov and I had a constructive discussion on the UK-Russia bilateral relationship… [We] agreed that despite our differences we needed to continue to work together on key security and foreign policy issues," Lidington was quoted as saying in a statement on UK Foreign Office website.

The sides also welcomed the expanding cultural and people-to-people ties between the countries and expressed hope for a successful 2016 Cross-Year of Language and Literature.
