Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday that Russia needs more time to analyze both the aims and the participants of the Saudi-led Islamic anti-terror coalition.

Saudi Arabia Forms Islamic Anti-Terror Coalition of 34 Countries - Reports
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Saudi Arabia announced the creation of an Islamic military alliance of 34 states to fight terrorism. At least 10 other Islamic countries expressed their willingness to join their counterterrorist efforts with the coalition.

"We will need some more time to analyze the decision [to create the coalition], of course, based on the detailed information, that we need, such as the members of this coalition, the declared common aims…" Peskov told journalists, in answer to a question on the Kremlin's position on the Riyadh decision.

The coalition, which includes Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey, among other nations, was created "to counteract terrorism, which became a threat to the interests of the Islamic nation," according to a statement to announce the decision by Riyadh.
