UK Petition to Ban US Republican Trumps 400,000 Signatures

Over 400,000 people have signed a petition calling for the British government to ban US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump from entering the UK. Starting in Scotland, the campaign to keep Trump out was launched on hate speech grounds, and his since gained momentum

"The signatories believe Donald J Trump should be banned from UK entry for his continued, unrepentant hate speech and unacceptable behavior. His unacceptable behavior is well documented, and we feel it foments racial, religious and nationalistic intolerance which should not be welcome in the UK," the petition states.

And now, over 400,000 people agree, which under parliamentary rules, means MPs must consider debating whether Trump can be banned from the UK on hate speech grounds.

However, in an attempt to enter the psyche of the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, another petition has emerged in the UK calling a stop to "all immigration and close the UK borders until ISIS [Daesh] is defeated".

The petition states:

"Allowing uncontrolled immigration and taking in these refugees potentially endangers the entire UK population. At any other time in our history this would be tantamount to a declaration of war and borders would be closed."

It seems Parliament will be even busier debating Mr Trump, as this particular petition has also amounted over 400,000 signatures.

In the past Trump has called Mexicans "murderers and rapists", mocked women, refugees, people with disabilities and said the US should ban all Muslims from entering the country.

Responding to Mr Trump's claims, London Mayor Boris Johnson told reporters:

"I think Donald Trump is clearly out of his mind. You can't ban people from going to the United States in that way."

Trump has also caused fresh outrage in the UK after claiming areas of London were "no-go areas" for police officers, because they were controlled by Islamist extremists.

In response, Boris Johnson said:

"When he says there are parts of London that are no-go areas, I think he is portraying stupefying ignorance that makes him unfit to be US President."

And when Boris was asked if he would welcome Trump in London, he simply said:

"I would invite him to come and see the whole of London… except I wouldn't want to expose Londoners to any unnecessary risk of meeting Donald Trump."

And he's not particularly welcome in Scotland now either.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has stripped Mr Trump of his status as business ambassador for Scotland, all the while momentum grows for the US Republican presidential candidate to be banned from entering Britain on hate speech grounds.
