During his November 25 address to parliament French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said that the government would lift the anti-Russian sanctions if Moscow implemented the provisions of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine.
“In any case, Turkey made a big mistake shooting down [the Russian] plane now that its twofaced tactic regarding the Daesh oil trade business had become a major irritant for too many countries. I believe this will lead to Ankara’s further isolation in the world,” Philippe Migault said.
He said that Daesh was selling its oil on the Turkish border and that Turkish officials pretended that they just did not see the thousands of oil trucks shuttling between their country and the ISIL-controlled territories.
“This makes Turkey an accomplice of terrorists because if it had shuttered its border this would effectively deprive the terrorists of much of their earnings. Ankara is also turning a blind eye to the soldiers who are conquering Syria from inside Turkish territory. That’s why I think Vladimir Putin hit the nail on the head when he accused Ankara of financing the Islamic State group,” Migault noted.
He also mentioned France’s recent U-turn regarding Russia with Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius saying that Paris would like to coordinate its military campaign in Syria with the forces of President Bashar Assad.
