MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Wednesday, ISIL released an online video threatening to carry out attacks against 60 countries, including Mexico, that are somehow contributing to an international fight against the group.
Sales stressed on Thursday that ISIL presents a major global and international threat and Mexico must take precautionary measures even though there is no particular terrorism threat in the country itself.
Mexico, the only Latin American country threatened by ISIL, was reportedly included in a September US government list of countries collaborating with a US-led coalition that has been carrying out airstrikes against ISIL in Syria.
Islamic State and its affiliates have claimed responsibility for several major terrorist acts, including a series of suicide bombings and shootings that took the lives of at least 130 people and injured over 350 others in Paris on November 13.
