The reason behind a high-speed train derailment in eastern France might be technical problems, the Elysee Palace said in a Saturday statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the high-speed train, with 50 people on board derailed and caught fire during a test run in France’s eastern Alsace region, killing at least 10 people.

"According to preliminary information, this [the derailment] might have been caused by technical problems," the statement read.
