Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel told RTBF later Saturday that one of the detained may have been in Paris while the attacks were taking place.

On Friday night, eight extremists wearing explosive belts attacked several venues across Paris, killing 129 people at restaurants, the Bataclan concert hall and in the vicinity of the Stade de France stadium.

Belgium opened its own probe into the incident following reports that Belgian nationals died in the assault.
