Lee Robert Moore, 37, of Maryland, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Friday at a state court in Delaware for the charges of sexual solicitation of a child under 18 and providing obscene material to a person under 18, the Associated Press reported.
The Secret Service agent surrendered to police on Monday, after it turned out the “child” he was soliciting was actually a Delaware State Police officer carrying out an online sex sting.
"Moore soon moved the chats sexual," the affidavit stated. "He stated he wanted to travel to Delaware and meet in person for sex. Moore made it clear that he knew I was a 14 yr old girl."
The affidavit goes on to describe their explicit chats, which began in August, in detail, including that Moore sent a photo of his erect penis to the person he believed to be a child.
Moore was released from state custody after his $105,000 bail was posted for him by an unidentified third party, but remains held on federal charges of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.
The agency also announced that Moore’s security clearance was suspended as soon as the incident was reported to their Office of Professional Responsibility.
Moore also confessed to using social media app "Meet24" to chat with other minor girls.
"In particular, Moore stated that he had an (sic) sexual interest in 14-year-old females and had engaged such individuals in online chats about sexual matters," Patrick McCall, a special agent with Homeland Security Investigations, wrote of the secret service agent.
