Vladimir Putin discussed with members of Russia's Security Council key issues of anti-terrorism fight as part of preparations for the G20 summit.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — President Vladimir Putin discussed on Friday with members of Russia's Security Council key issues of anti-terrorism fight as part of preparations for the G20 summit in Turkey, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Aside from the discussion of the domestic economic situation, the participants exchanged opinions on the fight against terrorism, including in the context of Saturday contacts at the level of foreign ministers and upcoming consultations in the framework of the G20 summit in Antalya," Peskov told reporters in Moscow.

The 10th G20 summit will be held in Antalya on November 15-16.

On November 15-16, Turkey’s Antalya will host the tenth G20 Leaders’ Summit, where the world leaders will discuss proposals for global economic growth, elimination of unemployment, tackling climate change, dealing with the ongoing refugee crisis and the global fight against terrorism.

Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with the government army fighting different armed opposition factions, as well as violent extremist groups including Islamic State and the Nusra Front.
