Russian Loans to Iran Discussed on Ministerial Level, With Central Bank

The allocation of Russian loans to Iran has been discussed by the Iranian communications minister with both the Russian finance minister and the head of the Russian Central Bank, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Iranian First Deputy Industrial Minister Mojtaba Khosrowtaj said that Moscow and Tehran had agreed on the main conditions to allot Iran a $7-$8-billion loan for joint projects with Russian companies.

"Mr. [Mahmoud] Vaezi during his visit together with his colleagues met Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and the leadership of the Central Bank, including its head Elvira Nabiullina, and discussed these issues," Novak said after the meeting of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission.

The Russian-Iranian Joint Economic Commission convenes November 10-12 in Moscow, to discuss mutual investment.
