MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian-Iranian commission is holding a range of meetings in Moscow on November 10-12 to discuss investments in joint projects.

"In other projects, in particular, in railway sphere it possibly can be done by the end of this year. But what about oil and gas sphere, everything is more complicated, I do not think that we can announce something by the end of this year. According to Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, Bilateral trade between Russia and Iran could reach some $10 billion annually in the short-term, compared to just $1.6 billion in 2014.

In late October, Russian delegation headed by Novak visited Tehran to discuss bilateral cooperation in the oil sector.

Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers — including Russia, the United States, China, France and the United Kingdom plus Germany — reached a deal in July to monitor and limit Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for the easing of international sanctions, which opened the way for Tehran to pursue energy projects.
