US to Start Training Six Ukrainian Battalions in November

The next stage of the drills where the US military will train six battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is going to start on November 23, 2015, according to Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman Andriy Lysenko.

KIEV (Sputnik) — US military advisers will start training six battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on November 23, Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman Andriy Lysenko said Saturday.

“The next stage of the drills where the US military will train six battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is going to start on November 23, 2015,” Lysenko said.

He added that the battalions are expected to be trained within the framework of US-Ukrainian Fearless Guardian-2015 joint military exercises that have recently ended in western Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, Ukraine's National Guard's press service reported that five mechanized battalions and one special forces battalion would be trained in Lviv region after the end of Fearless Guardian – 2015.

The United States, as well as the other NATO members, including the United Kingdom and Poland, has provided Kiev forces with military training in the framework of joint military drills.
