According to EasyJet, the evacuation of British tourists from Sharm el-Sheikh is put on hold as Egypt has suspended UK airlines from flying to the resort.

Evacuation of British Tourists From Egypt to Start Friday - British Envoy

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The evacuation of British tourists from Sharm el-Sheikh is put on hold as Egypt has suspended UK airlines from flying to the resort, EasyJet said Friday.

"The Egyptian authorities have currently suspended UK airlines from flying into Sharm El Sheik, which means that your flight will not now operate today," EasyJet said in a statement.

The air carrier added that it is working "at the highest level" with UK authorities to find a solution, and assured that it would cover additional accommodation costs for tourists forced to stay at the resort.
