The minister made assurances that the investigation is being conducted by the most experienced forensic experts using modern high-tech equipment.
"Russian forensic experts have made scrapes and swabs from all fragments of the crashed plane, including passenger bags. The samples have been taken from the debris in order to detect any trace of explosives. If there is anything that resembles an explosive substance — we will find it", the minister said.
Puchkov also added that the public will have access to the results of the investigation. Wreckage from the plane have been brought to Moscow for tests.
The Russian Airbus A321 passenger plane crashed in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula on October 31 en route from Egypt's resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. All 224 people on board were killed. The crash is the biggest tragedy in the history of Russian and Soviet civil aviation.
