MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement:
"We perceived with indignation the failure of the New York district court to review, in light of newly discovered circumstances, the criminal case against Russian citizen Viktor Bout, unjustifiably convicted in the United States to 25 years in prison. We consider this decision another politicized step by the American judicial system, which clearly follows orders from 'above'."
"We demand that US authorities finally put an end to this arbitrariness against a citizen of Russia," Zakharova said, vowing that Russia would continue its efforts to facilitate Bout's return.
