On August 6, an explosion at a mosque in Saudi Arabia's Abha, which is located close to the Yemeni border, killed at least 15 people, including 12 members of the country’s security forces.
On May 22, a suicide bomber carried out an attack at a Shiite mosque in Saudi Arabia's eastern province, killing over 20 people and injuring more than 100 others. A week after the incident, another Shiite mosque in the country was hit by a suicide bombing that killed four people, including the bomber. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for both attacks.
