President Barack Obama will visit Malaysia and the Philippines after participating in the G-20 summit in Turkey next month, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest announced in a statement.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The visits also will support Obama’s efforts to expand opportunities for American businesses and workers to sell their products in some of the world’s fastest-growing markets, the statement added.

“President Obama will travel to Turkey, the Philippines and Malaysia on November 14-22, 2015,” the statement, issued on Monday evening, stated.

In the Philippines, Obama will participate in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, while in Malaysia he will join the US-ASEAN Summit and the East Asia Summit, according to the statement.

“The President’s visits… [are aimed at] advancing the US strategy to rebalance to the Asia-Pacific region in all of its dimensions, including political, economic, security… engagement,” the White House explained.
