At Least 4 Dead as Boat Sank off Canadian Coast

At least four people died after a whale watching boat sank near Canadian Pacific coast, Royal Canadian Navy spokeswoman said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Sunday, the Leviathan II boat sank with 27 people on board near the Canadian town of Tofino in country’s western province of British Columbia. Earlier in the day, preliminary reports of local authorities said about both rescued and dead passengers, however the details were not revealed.

"At the moment, we can confirm that four people have been recovered without vital signs," Melissa Kia told NBC News on Sunday.

The authorities continue rescue operation searching for survivors and sending them to the local hospitals. At least nine people have already been found alive in the water.
