MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the BBC, a fallen tree killed a teenager in Manila while a 62-year-old woman died after a concrete wall collapsed in Subic, a town northwest of the Philippines capital.

Rising floodwaters forced over 16,000 people to leave their homes as the typhoon is expected to stay over the northern part of the country until Wednesday.

The Philippines and surrounding regions are hit by dozens of tornadoes and typhoons annually during the monsoon season typically between June and October.
