MOSCOW (Sputnik) – “Russian President V.V. Putin has sent a congratulatory telegram to A.G. Lukashenko in regard to his reelection as the president of the Republic of Belarus,” the Kremlin said in a statement.
According to preliminary results from Sunday’s presidential elections, Lukashenko garnered 83.5 percent of the popular vote, giving him a landslide win for his fifth term in office.
