The Eurasian Economic Union will receive “observer status” in the UN General Assembly on October 19, Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Eurasian Economic Union, comprising Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, aims to foster greater economic integration between its member states, including the streamlined flow of goods, services, capital and labor.

“It’s expected that the Eurasian Economic Union will receive observer status in the UN General Assembly on October 19,” Ushakov told journalists.
